A world-themed puzzle just in time for the Olympics and World Cup. Big year huh

It's been a while since my last acrostic, so I'll put the guidelines here again:

  • The top half is a quote. Words continue over line breaks
  • The answers in the bottom half constitute a full unscramble of the top half, and each letter in each answer connects to a letter in the quote (start typing and you'll see)
  • The first letter of each answer spells out the quoted person's name, hence "acrostic"
  • There are no Down clues; read everything left to right
  • I like to include word lengths, so an answer of WORDLENGTHS would have a (4, 7) after its clue
I find it helpful to switch between solving the bottom and top halves - like if you saw TH_ in the quote you might feel bold enough to guess the third letter in that word.
