This came together pretty quickly because I discovered that the tool I use has a crossword grid search to find grid patterns that have been used before. For anyone who hasn't made crosswords, placing the black squares and the themed entries (or just longer entries) in sensible places that will make the grid fillable (and minimize 3-letter words, which this pattern does not) is one of the things that takes a while when constructing. Nice to know that in many cases some of the work may have already been done.
You'll notice the themed clues don't fully follow the convention of parallel grammar structure. I wanted them all to read the same, so I italicized the part that strays from that rule to indicate the stylistic choice.
I didn't listen to music while making this one, but when I started it I was thinking about Voidsphere (free!) so they get a shoutout. Maybe I'll do a spiral crossword next time in their honor.
